Location: In person, depot-based. Gammies Groundcare, Forfar.
Job type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday – Friday & Every second Saturday on (Saturday hours 8:00 – 12:00)
Pay: £35 – £40 K per Annum DOE
Gammies Groundcare is recruiting for a Team Manager to join our growing robotics sector at our depot in Forfar. This is an office-based role managing our robotics department across sales and service, including overseeing daily activities, scheduling, liaising with customers, reviewing operational efficiency and performance and identifying new ways to improve. Ideal for someone who has knowledge or experience of the groundcare industry and previous managerial or office experience, who is looking to step into a new challenge.
The Role
Areas of responsibility:
- Coordinating the robotic lawnmower team by developing appropriate weekly schedules, taking into account the location of sites, travelling time and each staff member’s availability.
- Liaising with customers regarding installation, repair and site visit schedules and providing pre- and follow-up contact.
- Liaising with fellow departments in the depot, ensuring scheduling is coordinated with other departmental efforts and providing communication across departments.
- Manage day-to-day operations, including incoming robotic lawnmower enquiries and queries, either via telephone or email.
- Keeping up to date with robotic information from manufacturers and ensuring this is communicated within your team.
- Management of staff within the team, leading weekly meetings to discuss performance, current workload and the following week’s schedule.
- Proofread and check documents to ensure that customer information is kept up-to-date and stored correctly.
- Develop and administer service letters, reminders, and deal with any queries regarding the annual servicing of robotic lawnmowers.
- Provide assistance or direct customers to appropriate information points for robotic lawnmowers.
- Instruct customers on basic operational functions over the phone or online.
- Create and update information on spreadsheets & CRM
- Reviewing current operational efficiencies and looking into solutions to improve service.
- Any other duties as required.
Please note that this is a new field of business. Maintenance and technical knowledge of robotic lawnmowers is not required for applicants, and training regarding robotic lawnmower maintenance processes and our computer system (IBCOS) will be provided.
The person
This role is depot-based at Gammies Groundcare in Forfar and will be working alongside our Service and Depot Manager. Candidates for this role must be
- Highly organised with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Have previous experience in administration, coordination, or team management.
- Computer-literate with experience working with Microsoft packages.
- Detail-focused and able to efficiently manage multiple priorities
- Professional and adaptable with strong problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn and build up knowledge to understand the operation and maintenance of robotic lawnmowers.
Desirable but not essential:
- Previous experience within the lawn and garden or Groundcare industry.
